Untangling behavior and emotional problems in children with Developmental Disability and ASD: A Primary Care Perspective

Project TEACH is funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health and all services and events, such as this intensive training, are offered at no-cost to clinicians in New York State.

Target Audience

New York State primary care and family practice physicians, obstetricians/gynecologists, pediatricians and psychiatrists; as well as, psychologists, nursing professionals, social workers, residents, and mental health clinicians working with primary care, pediatric or ob/gyn practices.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, learners will:

  1. Describe the importance and process of accessing OPWDD services for children with Autism
  2. Discuss the first and second line medication treatments of ADHD in children with ASD
  3. Discuss the first and second line medication treatments of anxiety in children with ASD
  4. Discuss the use and limitations of medications in the treatment of aggression in children with ASD
