Sleep Disturbances in the Perinatal Period

Sleep disturbances are frequently present during the perinatal period, and patients with impaired sleep have an increased risk for perinatal complications. In this presentation, we will discuss how pregnancy affects sleep and highlight the link between impaired sleep and the risk of mood and anxiety disorders. We will further provide an overview of treatment modalities for sleep disorders in the perinatal period.
